In memory of the Aurors slain outside the Ministry of Magic last Saturday, the Black family is setting up the McAllister & Williams Memorial fund. This fund is intended to provide outreach to families of fallen DMLE members by formulating emergency monetary assistance as well as supply quality counseling, housing references, and the organization of funeral arrangements. The Black family is deeply aggrieved by last week’s tragedy, and while nothing can be a replacement for a loved one, it is our hope to assure the families of those lost that they will be taken care of by the community, and that the brave men and women of the DMLE are not forgotten. On a more personal note, I will be going back to thank those of you who have expressed their sympathies personally as soon as I have some spare time. Thank you, once again, for all your support in this difficult time.

So apparently it's condemning when my uncle uses an Unforgiveable (supposedly first, I might add), but now Unforgiveables are being used by Aurors as preventative measures? Oh, okay. I certainly hope the Blacks get some royalties for coming up with the idea first. It's only fair, after all, being that we're apparently trendsetters for the Ministry's legal system. Condemned one week, and now all the rage! Art is never understood in its day.
Imperio, common folk! Crucio, non-chosen few! Happy Christmas, everyone!

I suppose I shouldn't love Christmas as much as I do, but there's just something charming about sending the house elf to buy presents, pretending to remember relatives' names, drinking deeply-alcoholic punch, and leaving well-placed mistletoe hanging about. I even quite fancy some of the songs. Especially after afore-mentioned punch.
I know it's foolish to hope for snow; it never happens in London. But apparently I'm a fool for the holidays. And Grimmauld would be ever so charming underneath a thick blanket of snow. Especially if most of it is covered up.

I'm looking forward to Christmas. It's been my favourite holiday for as long as I can remember. The mysterious presents, the familiar songs, the haze of too much punch and not enough mistletoe... December is a beautiful month.

After it was suggested to me at a friend's birthday celebration that my usual selection of animals was "weird" and "not cute", I decided to put together a collection of animals that even the most brain-addled female would find appealing.

I have an announcement to make:
Effie McKinnon is an excellent example of womanly generosity, kindness, and compassion. Her recent gift of two tickets to the upcoming Magpies and Puddlemere match is without equal. Truly, Effie is the pinnacle of everything that is good and wonderful in the world, and I, Regulus Arcturus Black, once-Seeker for Slytherin House, and current Pain-in-the-Arse to all, do humbly grovel at her goddess-like feet.
That is all.

I may not be the foremost expert on home decoration, but I don't care what Mother says. Putting vines and leaves on the house elf heads in the foyer does not look "festively autumnal".

I hate ideas that seem beautiful on the surface, but only after spending some time with them do you realise that their beauty hides a deadly core of... deadly coreness.
I don't even know.
